Dinner with Characters

a Literary Masquerade to benefit the Rowayton Library

a themed evening of dinner, dancing and dessert

Would you like to be a host for our annual Rowayton Library fundraiser “Dinner with Character(s)”? 

  • Pick a co-host (many hands makes light work) and a book or movie and then we’re on to the imaginative part… the fun part!
  • Your role as host is to decorate your home in the fashion of the book/movie theme and then, dress in character. 
  • The Library will provide the dinner and wine.  We ask that you provide the cocktails and appetizers.
  • And then, after dinner, we transport you and your party to the Library for dessert and dancing, wine and beer. 
  • Tell us how many you can “serve” (including the hosts) and the book/movie you have chosen.  We’ll send out the invitations and information and tickets… all for the benefit of the Rowayton Library.

  • We will also hold a “host meeting” prior to the event to answer any questions you might have.  
  • Please let us include your home in our cast… of character(s). 

 

Dinner with Character(s)

  • The evening begins at 6:30 p.m. in the homes of our Dinner with Character(s) hosts, who create settings and food befitting their respective novels/movies. Your "role" as dinner guest is inspired by the book as well -- let its theme, characters and setting be your guide! (Dress in novel or festive attire.)

  • At 8:30 p.m. everyone is transported from their host homes for the Gala - featuring dessert and dancing at the Rowayton Library.

  • Since book/movie themed dinners are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis, please be sure to note your first and second book choice in the registration form.
